How not to wash your sleeping bag Message #5
I thought I had always washed my sleeping bags in my washing machine, but either this sleeping bag is much larger, or I have a bad memory!

I waited until I was visiting my mother, who has an extra deep washing machine.  I stuffed my thick -15C bag in, added some soap, and let the machine work its magic.

Well the magic it worked ripped the outside of my sleeping bag, there was stuffing everywhere, and the soap was still crusted all over the bag!

I think the bag was ripped because it is such a thick fluffy bag, it filled up the machine and I believe it was rubbing on the sharp edge at the top of agitator.

I still used it to camp with after that, but please learn from my lesson and don't stuff your sleeping bag into the washing machine!
